Probationary members are required to maintain an “active” status with the company.
These requirements include:
- Completing a bare minimum of three (3) duty shift per month, each of which is 12 hours in length. This amounts to a minimum of 36 hours per month. It is advised that probationary members complete more than one duty night per week in order to become “turned over” in a timely manner.
- Attend a minimum of four (4) company meetings per year. Attendance at a fire department class held on meeting night shall count as being present for that company meeting.
- Attend all drills as necessary for the turn-over process and for maintaining skills.
- Attend at least one of these company events each year: Fund Drive, Open House, and Spring Cleaning
Note: Probationary members are unable to vote at company meetings (though they are entitled to a voice on the floor) and cannot hold any line or executive/administrative office.
