
Back to Back House Fires
On the night of November 20th E811B ran two working house fires. E811B was alerted to respond to a report of an abandoned house on fire in Box 1-01 at the intersection of Ogelthorpe and 41st Avenue at 3:57pm. E811B was assigned the 4th due engine and was tasked with completing a supply line from the hydrant on 41st Avenue and RIT upon its arrival. The fire was quickly knocked down and the engine returned to service.
At 18:34 pm E811B was again alerted for the report of a house on fire with smoke coming from the basement in the area of Kara CT and Meagan LN in company 48s first due, and was dispatched as the first due engine.
Enroute to the call other units in the area of the fire cleared a separate working fire and joined the dispatch making E811B the second due engine. Upon arrival E811B took handlines off of E807 to the rear of the house; E807 was assigned to advance a line into the basement while E811B was tasked with taking a line to division one and E812 took a line to Division two. The fire in the basement was quickly extinguished as well as fire that had extended to the second floor charlie/bravo corner bedroom.
