Branchville Awards and Installation of Officers

In celebration of valor and commitment, the Branchville Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Squad, Inc honored the unwavering efforts of its volunteer firefighters and EMS members. The event, held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, became a momentous occasion to reflect on the accomplishments of 2023 and set ambitious goals for the upcoming year.

Eric Gove, the Branchville Fire Chief of 2023, took center stage to commend the outstanding achievements of the department’s top fire and EMS responders. The following remarkable individuals were recognized for their dedication:

The solemn swearing-in ceremony, led by Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association 2nd Vice President William “Billy” Cunningham, marked the installation of the ladies auxiliary, line and executive officers.

Serving as the master of ceremonies, Victor Weatherford, Board Member, presented to D. Scott Staub, Life Member, a gold watch signifying his 25th year of active service at Branchville.

As the Branchville Volunteer Fire Company marks its centennial year, plans for a grander celebration in September 2024 are underway, promising a nostalgic tribute to a century of selfless service. Branchville is an all volunteer fire and EMS department located in the northern part of College Park, Maryland bordering the main campus of the University of Maryland.
