Steady rains in the Washington Metropolitan area contributed to a number of motor vehicle accidents on the Capital Beltway in the vicinity of northbound I-95. The most serious accident occurred just after midnight Sunday morning when a driver lost control on the outer loop before U.S. Route 1 and struck another vehicle before slamming into the slow shoulder concrete wall.

Branchville Engine 811 was dispatched to I-95 & Route 212 (Powder Mill Road) for an accident. Crews found four vehicles involved in a rear-end collision with no injuries. The engine was cleared from the scene. While en route back to the station crews came across an accident that just happened at Rhode Island Ave and Sunnyside Ave. E811 provided barrier protection until the scene was turned over to Prince George’s County Police.

Branchville Ambulance 811B, along with units from Companies 12 and 14, were dispatched to Greenbelt Road (MD Rt 193) at Rhode Island Avenue around 4:30am for a reported motor vehicle accident with one vehicle overturned

Engine 811B, Ambulance 811B, and Assist Chief 811B was called at 23:22 hours for the motor vehicle accident on Interstate 95/Captial Beltway.

Branchville E811B responded to an accident with injuries on Powder Mill Rd & Cherry Mill Dr.

Engine 811B was called at 23:21 for the fuel spill at southbound capital beltway on the ramp by northbound interstate 95.

At 11:04 am Ambulance A811 responded to a call on the beltway for a 3 car accident. A811 was the second ambulance to arrive and provided support for A835.

At approximately 2330 hours on Sunday July 30th, 2017 A118 (A811) was alerted to respond to the 9200 block of Riggs road in company 34’s area for the report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.
