Company 11 Runs Wildland Fire
Engine 811B was called to transfer to the West Lahman fire department 13:20. Enroute to West Lahman they picked up an automatic fire alarm in the Greenbelt Residence Inn and shortly cleared after arrival. A box alarm struck at 13:40 requesting more assistance for the wildland fire where it was unknown of the size of involvement.
E811B responded to Lake Glen where we set up and able to work the fire’s opposite side from where it started. E811B dropped a hose by the hydrant and went around a home where they advanced 400 feet of hose toward the fire. After working on the fire, E811B crews pulled additional line of a 200 feet crosslay, and 2 of the 100 feet high rise sections of hose to extend the original 400 foot line.
With 800 feet all together, Station 39 from Bowie arrived and assisted E811B’s crew. After three and half hours the fire was knocked down. E811B advised there still was a hot spot in the location. E8111B crews dragged 200 feet of forest service hose and added to the 800 feet hose. All the hot spots were cleared and it was handed over to the forest service where they performed further investigation.
After clearing from the scene, E811B went to West Lahman fire department to stood-by and assisted with their hose racking.
