At approximately 1800hrs yesterday evening, E811B was dispatched for a reported house fire with entrapment on the 6400 Blk of Inlet St in New Carrollton. Firefighters from Company 11 arrived on scene as the 3rd engine and advanced a hoseline to the rear basement entrance of the house, where they were met with heavy fire and smoke conditions. E811B worked with members from TK814 (Berwyn Heights) and TK809 (Bladensburg) to extinguish fire in the basement and remove two occupants. The two patients were transported to area hospitals where one was pronounced deceased and the other remains in critical condition. E811B operated on scene for approximately 3 hours before returning to service.
