Fun-Filled Open House Day

Branchville welcomed the community to share in a day of fire prevention education and safety demonstrations at our annual Open House.
Visitors had a chance to use a fire extinguisher to put out a small stove fire, spray a fire hose at a wooden flame target, and ride on an antique firetruck.
In a special demonstration, they learned about how a firefighter looks and sounds wearing fire gear and an SCBA breathing apparatus and mask.
Members from the Glenn Dale Volunteer Fire Department stopped by to show how they rescue people who may be trapped after an accident.
We also had a special Visitor, Pink the explosives detection dog and U of MPD Officer Fitzgerald.
To add to the fun, there was face painting, a moon bounce, and free hot dogs and popcorn. It was a great day for both Branchville and the community we serve.
A special thank you to all of the Branchville members, the Branchville Ladies Auxiliary, our special guests, and to everyone that participated in the open house for creating this wonderfully fun and educational day.
