Passing Of Past President Robert W. Bell
Robert W. Bell, joined the Branchville Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Squad, Inc, in 1972. He soon took to his new surroundings and shortly thereafter, became a live-in member. Bob Progressed through all the department offered. He got his fire and EMS training, moving up to become an ambulance driver. For a few years, Bob served as a line officer: Sergeant and Lieutenant, and becoming an engine driver. In 1987, Bob was elected President of the company, serving a term of 3 years, and led our organization to unparalleled success. To this day we enjoy the fruits of Bob’s labor with a fleet of apparatus consisting of 10 pieces and not one, but 2 additions to our original firehouse. Due in part to to Bob’s business acumen and sharp decision-making more than 35 years ago, our ensuing leaders have continued Bob’s legacy as they guide us into the future. Bob, you were one of a kind and will be missed by many. R.I.P.
