Thank You For Supporting Our Volunteers
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Branchville has received many generous donations from businesses and individuals. The firehouse has been humbled by the communities’ outpouring of support for our dedicated volunteers.
We would like to give many thanks to:
Rising Sun Motors who donated a portion of their daily proceeds to Branchville. Rising Sun Motors has been across the street as Branchville’s neighbor since 1977, a whopping 43 years! Prior to being Rising Sun Motors, the auto shop was named Johnson’s garage. The owner, Mr. Johnson was actually Branchville’s fire chief for some time!
Potomac Pizza & Chris Underwood who coordinated a donation of food and snacks for our volunteers. Chris is the son of Branchville Life member and Treasurer, Frank Underwood.
Dr. Kofinas and Marathon Deli donated hand sanitizer fabricated from Dr. Kofinas’ lab at University of Maryland (UMCP). He coordinated with Marathon Deli for a donation of lunch for the volunteer crew in the firehouse. Dr. Kofinas is the Chair of the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department. His lab, the lab of Dr. Liu, and others have heroically repurposed during the COVID0-19 pandemic for the manufacturing of hand sanitizer and high quality face masks.
Hogs and Heroes donated groceries to our volunteer crews. The donation was dropped off by Lee Scribner and Beth Scribner, members of Hogs and Heroes and Branchville.
Local kids Gabi & Alex and their mother Suzi worked hard to create beautiful hand-made fire/ems themed face masks for the crews in our firehouse to wear. The entire department loves the masks, and are so grateful for their hard work in making it.
