Two Early Morning Crashes

Around 5:30 am Sunday AM Branchville Engine 811 and Ambulance 811B, along with units from Companies 14 and 35, were dispatched to the outer-loop of the Capital Beltway (I-495/I-95) near Kenilworth Avenue for a reported crash with one vehicle off the road. Units responding found nothing at the reported locations but the units from Branchville, based on a hunch and then updated radio reports, continued to Landover Road (Rt. 450) to find a silver sedan in the trees between the outer ramps. E811 arrived and quickly determined the driver was not injured and returned other units to service. E811 remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes until Maryland State Police arrived.

While returning to quarters E811 came across a minor accident on eastbound Greenbelt Road (Rt. 193) at 58th Avenue. E811 provided barrier protection, assessed injuries and requested additional resources. A814 arrived and transported two patients to a local hospital and E811 returned to service.

Units: E811, A811B, SQ814, E828B, E835B, A835
